The summer before your senior year is the best time to schedule your senior photo session. Most yearbook deadlines are in the fall so my calendar during the summer gets very busy. Plus taking care of it in the summer allows you to check one big thing off your senior year to do list.
Sessions are scheduled during a very precise time of day based on the type of shoot you need for your session. Light can vary greatly depending on where we choose to shoot. Most of my sessions are scheduled in the late-afternoon/evening hours of the day. The golden glow of late summer evenings can't be beat but August dates fill up fast. Different times of the year affect what time the golden evening light will be. September and October can still work but sessions will need to be scheduled earlier in the afternoon for the best light. Please make sure to consult your school to find out when the yearbook deadlines are if you are wanting a fall photo shoot. A photo session needs to be scheduled at least a month before the yearbook deadline to make sure we have time for editing and a reveal/ordering session. Indoor shoots are often scheduled for mid-morning light.

Sessions offer a customized photo shoot experience from beginning to end. Session fees range from $200-500, depending on time/location/amenities. Portrait collections and a la carte items
(i.e. digital images/prints/products) are sold separately.

Of course! I want you to fee absolutely comfortable and to have fun. If your best friend, mom, brother, sister.... bring out the best in you and would help you with your things then bring them to support you. Pets are fine to join for a portion of the shoot too!

The session retainer fee is paid at the time you book your session, and is non-refundable. This fee covers the session consultation, the planning, scouting and preparation for the session, the time and talent of the photographer during the session, the hair and makeup artists if applicable, the image preparation and the image reveal appointment  where you view and select your images and products. It also covers your yearbook photo submission directly to your school.

The session fee does not include any digital images, prints or products, and is a non-refundable fee that is required in order to secure your consultation, session date and image reveal on my calendar.

I am so excited to work together to create keepsakes and artwork which will live in your home and make you smile every time you see them. Having personal photos in my own home has made it feel warmer and more welcoming every time I step through the door and I want the same for you. Everyone is crazy for digital files! I know you are interested in sharing your amazing images through social media BUT I also know having high quality printed art is infinitely more satisfying than just seeing them on a screen. Lost memories are expensive. A printed photo is an asset. The value increases over time. 

Don't worry! Once you have booked your session, we will talk about all the details specific to your photo shoot vision. I scout locations for each senior according to their preferences. Seniors usually bring a minimum of three complete outfit choices. If you are excited to start shopping even before we have a consultation begin by choosing clothes that are flattering and fit you well and are in your favorite colors. Texture is a bonus and can be achieved by layering and adding accessories. Don't forget to plan your shoe choice too.

I am happy to help you schedule time with a professional
makeup artist and hair stylist. When you book a session please mention your interest in this service and I will facilitate an appointment which coordinates with your photo session. 

I understand that sometimes unexpected emergencies could happen, preventing you from keeping your original scheduled appointment (such as illness, travel issues, or other emergency situations). If this happens, I ask for an email to hello@kimblauphotography.com a minimum of 24 hours prior to the scheduled date in order to reschedule.

I am able to provide a one-time reschedule if you notify me a minimum of 24 hours prior to your appointment. Additional reschedules will require a fee of $100 per occurrence, and are subject to schedule availability.

Your session fee is non-refundable, however you may apply it towards your rescheduled date if completed within 6 months of the original date.
